About MNASE Basketball League

Founded in 2017 in Saint Paul, Minnesota by former athlete and lifelong coach Izell Scales, MNASE Basketball League began as a small, local initiative focused on giving young players a real opportunity to grow through basketball. Originally known as the Minnesota Amateur Sports Empire, MNASE has since evolved into a nationally driven brand dedicated to providing structured, impactful basketball experiences for athletes of all ages and skill levels.

In 2024, we rebranded to reflect not only our growth beyond Minnesota, but our deeper mission: to deliver Mentorship, Networking, Athletics, Support, and Experience through every program we offer.

These five values are the foundation of everything we do — from how we coach, to how we build community, to how we treat every player who wears a MNASE jersey.

What We Offer
MNASE is a full-service basketball organization offering seasonal and year-round programming that includes:
Youth Travel Teams through our Elite Mammoths program Development for players cut from school teams through Second Chance Shots
High-tempo 3v3 leagues via Lockdown 3on3
Year-round skill development through Mentality Academy Camps, Clinics & Workshops
A competitive and organized adult basketball league through Secure the Crown

We serve players from ages 9 to adult, and all of our programs are built on certified coaching, professional operations, and meaningful development.

Our Approach
We believe that every athlete deserves structure, recognition, and a chance to succeed — regardless of background, height, or history. That belief is personal. MNASE was created by someone who was once overlooked as a player, and that experience fuels our drive to create systems that give every athlete a fair shot.

Looking Ahead:
Our Future Vision We’re not stopping at Minnesota. MNASE is actively preparing to expand regionally and nationally, with plans to bring our structure and mission to new cities and communities in:
Multiple Minnesota regions starting in 2026
Additional states through partnerships and MNASE-certified leadership
National tournament circuits, college prep programs, and technology-powered athlete platforms

We are also preparing to launch two new, never-before-seen basketball programs in 2026, focused on transforming how athletes develop and how families experience youth sports.
